“Lost in Textlation”
Dating has become dependent on text messages, social media, email, and online dating services. According to some recent surveys, this reliance on text may be creating a “false intimacy”. I’ve gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to texts- and not because of auto-correct. What did I do wrong? I should have picked up the phone, and spoken, rather than sending a text. (BTW- texting is not even a word in my spell check. That should be a hint).
So what is “Lost in Textlation”? Lost in textlation is when you say what you mean to someone you care about, but you do so via text, and your message is misinterpreted in the process, but- instead of the recipient giving you the benefit of the doubt- you are rejected because of your message. Maybe they don’t have a good sense of humor. Sometimes the person is just conceited. Sometimes just jaded. It’s in the Urban Dictionary.
Lost in Textlation is a dating blog for women, by a man. It’s both my gift to you, and a chance for me to repent. Please- take what you read with a sense of humor and a grain of salt. Flamers and haters can go start their own blogs. Honest opinions are welcome, but be careful- don’t get lost in textlation.
